Prayers for Elias

We had an unfortunate occurrence this afternoon. A good friend of ours accidentally drove over our little guy Elias. At a VERY fast pace, Elias walked in front of his car as he moved forward. The tire went over his left femur and pelvis.

Elias has a small, very small, fracture in his pelvis. NO signs of internal bleeding. The biggest risk is that if there is a severe increase of muscle protein absorbed into the blood that could trigger kidney failure. The protocol as I understand it is to keep him on and IV drip to "Flush out" or dilute any proteins that could cause any damage.

So we are in the PRAY, watch and wait pattern for 2 days.

Thank you all for your prayers. Elias has made it through the night without any complications. With no signs yet of any problems, we are feeling confident that God has protected him or healed him. The doctors will be in shortly for the morning visit.

We still need to get through the first 48 hours. That is the key mile stone.

Thank you all again!!!

Elias is doing as good as we could ask for. There are no signs of any internal problems. So let's keep praying God has healed and protected him.

i'm just remembering seeing elias jump fearlessly into the pool, and then getting tumbled in the shore pound- he's pretty hard core. you seriously can't keep that kid down! when shelley called this morning, i, unfortunately was in the shower, so brandon talked to her for a minute. when i asked him later how elias was doing, he said they didn't get to talk about it b/c the doctor had just come in. but b did say he heard shelley ask elias to sit down. we decided that was probably a good sign! here's the little guy in the hospital, but still wanting to be on the go! no car can slow him down! but in the meantime we are praying. love you guys!

Ouch! All I can say is wow there is nothing like being a parent to bring about the deepest empathy for you and this trial to your sweet family. Linda, Eliana and I will definitely be adding our prayers up as well.

Wonderful to see some encouraging news on the other side of that moment.

Love to you all,

The Boothe's (snif)

P.S. We due with our 2nd little angel here any day.
